Westgate Wind Quintet, June Emerson Wind Music Launchpad Prize 2013/14 winners, presents a linked programme to the evening’s
concert (Reiko Fujisawa (piano) & Principals from the London Orchestras). The French works, written twenty years apart from each other
highlight the progression from Romantic to the Impressionist style of
Ravel. As contemporaries, Danzi revered Mozart, and as an English composer, Martin Butler is a contemporary of Peter Fribbins. Poulenc’s Novelette precedes the composition of his Sextet by 5 years.
